Kayode Akiolu has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination for Lagos Island Constituency II after a consensus‑based primary held on Saturday.
The lawmaker’s selection was backed by party leaders, stakeholders and local supporters, clearing the way for him to run as the APC candidate in the 2027 general elections.
Following the primary, Akiolu thanked party members and loyalists for the confidence placed in him.
He described the outcome as encouraging and reaffirmed his commitment to provide effective and high‑quality representation for the people of Lagos Island Constituency II.
Akiolu also pledged to continue working in the interests of his constituents while supporting the party’s growth and development agenda.
