Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has extended congratulations to his Ekiti State counterpart, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, on securing a second term. He described the result as a robust endorsement of Oyebanji’s leadership.

Aiyedatiwa also praised Professor Dayo Faduyile for winning the Ondo South Senatorial by‑election, thanking voters for their active participation in the electoral process.

In a statement released on Sunday, the governor said Oyebanji’s re‑election reflected the confidence Ekiti residents place in his “purposeful leadership and people‑oriented policies.” He added that the renewed mandate confirmed the achievements made under Oyebanji’s administration in infrastructure development, economic growth, social welfare, and good governance.

“The victory reflects the confidence and trust reposed in him by the people of Ekiti State,” Aiyedatiwa said.

He expressed optimism that Oyebanji would build on his first‑term successes and further advance development in the state, while assuring continued collaboration to promote growth across the South‑West.

Regarding the Ondo South senatorial election, Aiyedatiwa noted that Faduyile’s victory demonstrated the trust constituents placed in him. He highlighted the senator‑elect’s background in medicine, academia, and public service as preparation for effective representation.

The governor urged the new senator to collaborate with stakeholders to foster development in the district.

Aiyedatiwa also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and voters for what he called a peaceful and credible electoral process, and called for continued unity to advance regional progress.
