In a move to accommodate growing passenger demand in Nigeria’s domestic and regional skies, Air Peace, the country’s largest airline, has added another Boeing 737‑800 Next Generation aircraft to its fleet.
The new plane, registered 5N‑CGD, landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Sunday, May 24, 2026, marking a further milestone in the airline’s ongoing fleet expansion and modernization program.
Equipped with 189 Economy‑class seats, the 737‑800 NG offers a spacious cabin, ample overhead storage, advanced avionics, modern safety systems, and fuel‑efficient engines. These features make it one of the most reliable and widely used narrow‑body aircraft worldwide.
Air Peace said the addition will enhance passenger experience while delivering operational benefits. The aircraft’s fuel efficiency helps lower operating costs and cut carbon emissions, supporting the airline’s sustainability goals. Its range and versatility will also allow the carrier to optimize route deployment and maintain schedule reliability as the network grows.
For travelers, the arrival of 5N‑CGD means more seat capacity, better connectivity, and greater flexibility on key routes.
