Agidi Umeri Peter, a well‑known grassroots politician, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination to run for the Obi II Constituency seat in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly in the 2027 general elections.
Peter secured the nomination after defeating his nearest rival, Michael Gida Daniel, in the party’s primary held on Wednesday.
Collation officer Dahiru Shuaibu Zanuwa announced that Peter received 6,381 votes, while Daniel obtained 1,482 votes.
With this result, Peter will represent the APC in the Obi II Assembly race as campaigning efforts intensify in preparation for the 2027 polls.
