Mohammed Lawal, the agent of Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has explained the circumstances that led the shot-stopper to take a temporary break from football, DAILY POST reports.
Nwabali requested for his contract to be terminated by South African club Chippa United in February.
The Nigeria international was unable to secure a move to another club for the remainder of the season.
The 30-year-old went through the emotional trauma of losing his grandmother, father and mother within one month.
Lawal said it was a difficult experience for the the former Enyimba shot stopper which explained his desire to leave Nwabali earlier in the year.
“It has been very difficult for Stanley,” Lawal told ESPN.
“People don’t always know what is going on with these players. They only see them on the field. They know them as footballers, but they don’t know that they are human beings too. Like everyone else, they go through life’s challenges.”
Chippa United announced Nwabali’s return to the club last week.
