Again, earthquake rocks Iran

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that a 4.7‑magnitude earthquake struck southern Iran.

The quake occurred on Wednesday at a depth of 14 km (8.7 miles).

It affected parts of Hormozgan province and was felt by residents of Qeshm and Hormoz cities, as well as rural areas in Bandar Abbas.

The agency identified the epicentre near Bandar Laf, at a depth of 20 km.

So far, there are no reports of injuries or damage, and the EMSC said it would provide updates as they become available.

Daily Post notes that a 4.7‑magnitude event is generally classified as light to moderate, widely felt but usually causing minimal damage.

For context, a 4.3‑magnitude earthquake struck Tehran, the Iranian capital, last week.
