The United States Africa Command, AFRICOM, has released a video showing the operation that eliminated Abu‑Bilal al‑Minuki, the world’s most wanted terrorist and second‑in‑command of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), who was hiding in Nigeria.

In a caption accompanying the video, the command stated, “Last night’s operation targeted a significant presence of ISIS fighters in Northeastern Nigeria, eliminating multiple high‑value individuals, including Abu‑Bilal al‑Minuki.”

The Daily Post reported that U.S. President Donald Trump announced that American forces, working with the Nigerian Armed Forces, carried out a joint military operation that resulted in the killing of al‑Minuki, identified as ISIS’s second‑in‑command worldwide.

In a statement posted on his Truth Social account on Saturday, Trump said the operation was the result of extensive intelligence gathering and strategic coordination aimed at tracking the terrorist leader’s activities in Africa.

President Tinubu also confirmed the incident, describing the overnight operation as a “significant example of effective collaboration” between the two countries in the fight against terrorism.
