According to Afrik‑Foot, Ademola Lookman may depart Atletico Madrid this summer, just five months after signing with the Spanish club.
The Super Eagles star joined from Atalanta in February 2026 for an initial €35 million plus performance‑related add‑ons. At the time he became only the second Nigerian in the club’s history. The former RB Leipzig winger signed a contract that runs until June 2030 and was expected to become a key figure in Diego Simeone’s attack.
Although he has scored four La Liga goals and delivered decisive strikes in both the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League, reports indicate the 28‑year‑old has struggled to fully adapt to Simeone’s demanding defensive system.
With Atletico looking to rebuild after finishing the 2025/26 campaign without a major trophy, the club is reportedly open to offers between €50 million and €60 million. Turkish giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe are among the clubs monitoring the situation, while Premier League sides Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool have also been linked with the Nigerian international.
