Kingsley Chibuike Obiukwu, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, has submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to the electorate for endorsement.

During the presentation, Obiukwu pledged to free constituents from hardship and underdevelopment by promoting empowerment, education, and effective representation in the National Assembly.

The weekend event was held at three locations: St Michael’s Catholic Church in Amakwa, Ozubulu (Ekwusigo Local Government Area); G‑Meridian 59 Multi‑purpose Event Centre in Obiofia, Nnewi North LGA; and the Salvation Army Church Field in Ebeh, Ukpor, Nnewi South LGA. More than 10,000 women, youths and men from the constituency attended.

Obiukwu circulated the hall, displaying his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to attendees, explaining that he chose to present the documents to the constituents first, as the forms belong to them.

Later, speaking to journalists at the event, Obiukwu reaffirmed his commitment to serve the constituency.

He said, “My people have been suffering and have become backward due to neglect, but time has come for them to be liberated. I promise to empower the women and youth with skills and start-ups to establish something meaningful for themselves.

“When women are empowered, the entire families and society are empowered. And in the same vein, when youths are empowered, crimes would be drastically reduced in our society.

“Youths are leaders of today and no longer leaders of tomorrow. We will work very well to ensure that our youths and women are empowered to be financially independent, and also contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of our society.”
