The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rejected a viral video that claimed its National Chairman, Senator David Mark, authorized the sale of nomination forms through a stakeholder.

The party called the claim false and unauthorized.

In a Tuesday statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC said that only communications released through the National Publicity Secretary’s office should be considered authentic.

“The attention of the African Democratic Congress National Headquarters has been drawn to a viral video circulating on social media alleging that the National Chairman, Senator David Mark, GCON, passed a message through a fraudulent stakeholder authorising the sale of nomination forms,” the statement read.

The party said any message that purports to represent the National Chairman or the National Working Committee outside official channels must be ignored.

“Any official communication from the National Chairman or the National Working Committee must be issued through the National Publicity Secretary. Any other message claiming to represent the position of the National Chairman or NWC is false, unauthorized, and a blatant lie being spread on social media,” the statement added.

The party explained that, under its constitution, the sale of nomination forms for the offices of President, Governor, Senate and House of Representatives is the responsibility of the Office of the National Organising Secretary.

It added that nomination forms for State House of Assembly positions are processed at the state party headquarters.

“Any sale, collection, or purported authorization outside these offices is a direct violation of the party constitution and the Electoral Act process,” the statement said.

The ADC also noted that all party activities and affairs in the states are conducted exclusively through recognized state party headquarters.

It warned the public against dealing with unauthorized agents or relying on directives circulating online.

“Those engaging in impersonation and misinformation will be dealt with in line with the party constitution and the law,” the party stated.

The ADC urged its members to remain law‑abiding and to work toward a united party ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to the timetable issued earlier this month, the sale of ADC nomination forms took place from May 5 to May 10, 2026, while the submission of completed forms is scheduled for May 11 to May 13, 2026.

According to the party, “The presidential nomination form is pegged at N100 million, governorship at N50 million, Senate at N20 million, House of Representatives at N10 million, and State House of Assembly at N3 million.”
