Actress Bukky Wright: My Children Were Taken From Me When I Was Young

Veteran actress Bukky Wright has revealed that her entry into acting was driven by a personal tragedy: her children were taken away from her at a very young age.

In an emotional interview, the actress clarified that she never sought fame or stardom when she joined the film industry.

“I actually started acting so that when my children grow up, they would be able to, at least, I never thought of being a star, at least know where to find me,” she said.

Wright explained that she lost custody of her children after marrying into a wealthy family that looked down on her and doubted her potential.

“My children were taken from me when they were very young because I married into a very wealthy family, and they could not think I would become anything in this life. And here I am today,” she added, as the audience applauded her emotional revelation.

In 2025, Wright celebrated her son Eniola’s wedding ceremony with his partner, Sara Bonet.

The veteran Nollywood actress shared the moments on her official Instagram page, expressing prayers, gratitude, and thanksgiving.
