Chris Imumolen, the factional presidential candidate for the Accord Party in the upcoming 2027 general elections, has clarified that he has not pledged allegiance to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
In an interview on Arise Television’s “Day Break” on Thursday, Imumolen stated that he has no objection to anyone pursuing a political office.
He added that his focus is on restoring the Accord Party’s legitimate membership and structure through the appropriate legal channels before the court.
“I have not pledged any personal allegiance to Governor Adeleke. I have no issue with anyone aspiring to political office,” he said.
“My only concern is ensuring that the right process is followed in Accord, so the party does not produce a governor who could lose office over irregularities,” Imumolen continued.
“Accord does not produce a governor who would eventually lose the seat because of some inappropriate process which has brought the person in,” he added.
“I’m only trying to make sure that the chairmanship position of Accord, which I rightfully won, is regained through the proper process, which is the court,” he concluded.
