Chief Ayo Afolabi, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Monitoring Committee for Gubernatorial and House of Assembly Primary Elections in Oyo State, called on all candidates participating in the primaries to accept the results with good faith.

Afolabi made the appeal while leading the monitoring team at the gubernatorial primary held on Thursday in Ward 3, Ibadan North Local Government Area.

He also serves as the party’s Publicity Secretary for the South‑West region and said the committee was satisfied with the reports received to date.

“My name is Chief Ayo Afolabi. I am the Chairman of the Monitoring Committee of APC Gubernatorial and House of Assembly Primary Elections in Oyo State,” he said. “What the monitoring committee has observed, particularly today, is the orderly conduct of the members. People have been obedient and orderly, and we are satisfied. But the reality is that so far, it has been orderly. My advice to the party members and aspirants is to accept the outcome of the results in good faith.”

Barrister Sharafadeen Alli, one of the gubernatorial aspirants who voted in the ward, described the exercise as peaceful. Speaking to journalists, he urged all candidates and party members to support whoever emerges from the primary.

“I am happy. You can see the process; it is free and fair. I want to advise my fellow aspirants that we should please accept the results of this primary election. Whoever emerges, we should support him,” Alli said. “I also appeal to party members to keep calm and work for the success of the party in order to reclaim Agodi Government House in 2027.”
