Abuja's landscape will transform entirely before Tinubu's first term ends, says Wike.

On Tuesday, Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike announced that Abuja’s landscape would be fully transformed before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu completes his first term, and he assured that current infrastructure projects would continue despite the upcoming election.

He delivered the remarks at the official flag‑off ceremony for the Southern Parkway service carriageways in Gaduwa District, Abuja, reaffirming the FCT Administration’s commitment to sustaining the capital’s infrastructure boom.

The flag‑off was conducted by APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.

“Let me say clearly, by the time Mr. President finishes his first tenure on May 29, 2027, before he is sworn in as President for a second tenure, the landscape of Abuja would have entirely changed, to the glory of God,” the minister said.

Addressing worries that the administration might slow project execution before the 2027 elections, Wike dismissed those concerns, emphasizing that development in the FCT would proceed without interruption.
