Mrs Victoria Dibumma Onwubiko, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Abia State Structures for Signage and Advertisement Agency (ABSAA), has formally announced her candidacy for the Obingwa West seat in the State House of Assembly.
She said her campaign is driven by a desire to provide effective representation for the people of Obingwa West, to promote protection and economic empowerment, and to advance the liberation and emancipation of women.
Speaking to political stakeholders, residents of Obingwa, and friends from her hometown of Ossah Ukwu on Saturday, Onwubiko stressed that the State House of Assembly should not be a “jamboree” but a venue for passing purposeful legislation that safeguards citizens’ welfare.
The ABSAA Director General highlighted her extensive background in academia, politics, and both public and private sectors, asserting that she possesses the qualifications needed to serve her constituency effectively.
“For over 30 years, I have worked diligently to acquire the corporate experience, academic credentials, and political insight required for the role I now seek,” she said.
She pledged to uphold principled conduct, consistent integrity, and professionalism in all her engagements.
In separate goodwill messages, Obingwa Local Government Area Mayor Maxwell Nwadike, Commissioner for Petroleum Joel Ogbonna, State Labour Party Chairman Peter Chigozie Azubuike, and other officials praised her, describing her as the most qualified candidate for the position.
