Abbas, Abdullahi, and Others Win APC House of Representatives Primaries in Kaduna

Most of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary results in Kaduna State have been announced.

In the Zaria Federal Constituency, Speaker Abbas Tajudeen won the primary, while in the Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, the son of former Ahmadu Bello University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ango Abdullahi, also emerged victorious.

Chairman of the House of Representatives Primary Election Committee, Yakubu Hosseini, announced the results at the APC state secretariat in Kaduna, stating that the exercise was conducted in accordance with the party’s constitution and guidelines.

“In Zaria Federal Constituency, Abbas Tajudeen emerged unopposed with 930 votes,” Hosseini said.

He added that Tajudeen, having met all APC requirements and received the highest number of votes, is declared the party’s House of Representatives candidate for Zaria Federal Constituency.

In Kaduna North Federal Constituency, Samaila Abdul Suleiman won with 3,049 votes, defeating Abdulaziz Abubakar Kaka, who received 65 votes, and Abubakar Mahmoud, who polled 96 votes.

Hosseini declared Suleiman the winner after confirming that he met the APC constitution and guidelines.

Amos Gwamna Magaji was selected by consensus in the Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency after polling 1,930 votes.

In Kaura Federal Constituency, Benjamin Gugong defeated Donatus Mathieu, receiving 1,085 votes to Mathieu’s 255.

In Kauru Federal Constituency, Mukhtar Zakari Chawai was chosen by consensus with 1,750 votes.

Felix Joseph Bagudu won the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency with 1,580 votes.

Gabriel Salle was declared the winner in the Kagarko/Kachia Federal Constituency, while Daniel Amos won the Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency.

Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, son of the late Prof. Ango Abdullahi, secured 920 votes in his contest.

Other candidates reported include Muhammad Jallo, who received 1,171 votes, and Bashir Suleiman Juntu, who garnered 1,787 votes in their respective constituencies.

Kaduna State APC Chairman Atiku Sanke formally accepted the results and declared the primaries complete.

Independent National Electoral Commission officials were present to monitor the exercise and confirmed the collated results from the various constituencies.
