A truly committed government must not neglect trained professionals in public service – Oyebamiji

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Osun State, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, has vowed to bring back approximately 2,000 teachers and health workers who were removed from the state workforce if he is elected governor on August 15.

Oyebamiji made the announcement on Sunday in Lagos after meeting with more than 1,500 teachers and 515 health workers who were reportedly dismissed by the Osun State Government in 2022.

He described the dismissals as unfair and regrettable, noting that many of the affected staff had served the state faithfully before losing their jobs, along with salary payments, arrears and any form of job security.

According to him, a government that is truly committed to development should not neglect trained professionals who are ready to contribute to public service.

Oyebamiji also said that the disengagement of these workers undermines confidence in the civil service and weakens morale in the education and healthcare sectors.

He assured the affected workers that, if elected, his administration would prioritize their reinstatement and address issues related to unpaid salary arrears and outstanding promotion benefits.
