The North-West Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Garba Muhammad, has disclosed the reason President Bola Tinubu retained his Vice, Kashim Shettima as running mate in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Muhammad said Tinubu’s decision reflected his confidence in Shettima’s loyalty, competence and dedication to national service, adding that it was a strategic move that would strengthen the party’s electoral prospects.

He commended the President for retaining Shettima, describing him as a dependable partner whose performance in office had earned the trust of many Nigerians.

“I sincerely congratulate the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, on his re-nomination by the President. This action by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a demonstration of his trust and confidence in the Vice President.

“So far, Nigeria and Nigerians are well pleased with the Vice President for his loyalty and commitment to his fatherland,” Muhammad said.

The APC chieftain further stated that the decision is a strategic political calculation that will further strengthen the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general election.

He added that President Tinubu had once again demonstrated political foresight through the move, insisting that the APC remained the party to beat in the next election.

“The President has once again displayed his political sagacity with this decision. The APC remains the party to beat in the next general elections,” he added.

He also called on APC members and Nigerians to continue supporting the Tinubu administration as it implements its policies and development programmes.
