2027: We Will No Longer Be Tied to Any Godfather – APM

The Allied Peoples Movement, APM, has declared that it will not be linked to any godfather in the run‑up to the 2027 general elections.

National Chairman Yusuf Dantalle made the statement on Saturday during an interview on Arise Television.

Dantalle explained that the decision to form an alliance was driven by the party leadership’s sense that the election deadline was approaching and time was limited.

“Every voice in the party is important. While we need financial resources to drive the party’s activities, we will not hoodwink ourselves with any godfather to dictate what happens in our party,” he said.

“APM is the kind of egalitarian political party we want to build,” Dantalle added.

“The APM is one party that I would say is clean, devoid of any form of rancor. And how did we achieve that feat? We try as much as possible to work within the laws,” he concluded.
