2027: We Will Challenge the APC in Imo – Chieftain, Uchebuakor

Prudence Uchebuakor, the Imo State Chairperson of the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA), announced that the newly registered party intends to assume leadership of the state in the 2027 general elections. She also called on Imo voters to join the DLA.

Speaking to journalists at the party secretariat in Owerri, Uchebuakor said the DLA would not only make significant progress but also achieve a landslide victory in the state.

She emphasized that the DLA is the sole political platform with a positive, developmental agenda that she believes will transform the economic landscape of Imo and Nigeria as a whole.

The chairperson added that the party possesses everything needed to win at all levels, urging prospective candidates for elective positions to come and collect forms.

“Our party has a clearly articulated ideology focused on good governance, economic improvement, and public security. It is built on equity and a Pan‑African philosophy, aiming to shift Nigeria from a consumption‑based to a production‑driven economy,” she said.

“DLA has no godfathers; it concentrates solely on human development and building platforms that positively impact lives. Those who seek good governance, rule of law, and equity should join the party,” she continued.

Uchebuakor assured that new members would not be disappointed, citing the party’s strong structure not only in Imo but across all 36 states of the Federation.

She noted that, as one of the leading opposition parties, the DLA will give the ruling party a direct challenge in 2027.

“We are here to win elections. We are working with people who are truly yearning for change. I am confident that the masses will support us because they are looking for good governance. We need people who truly desire a change in the country. Let me also tell Imo people that we are going to wrestle power from the APC in the state. We must produce the next governor. So, people should join our team. We’re here to make a difference,” she added.

Uchebuakor further stated that the DLA is open to anyone whose objective and mindset is to transform society from its current state to what it ought to be.
