The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed the selection of its three senatorial candidates for Jigawa State ahead of the 2027 general elections. The party’s national representative in Abuja, Usman Dange, announced the decision to party members following the completion of the primary elections.
Dange explained that the candidates were chosen through a consensus arrangement adopted by the APC. He named the nominees as Babangida Hussaini for Jigawa North West, Ahmad Malammadori for Jigawa North East, and Sani Garba for Jigawa South West.
All three candidates secured the APC senatorial tickets unopposed during primaries held across the state on Monday. The state chairman of the party praised the high turnout of supporters, especially in the Jigawa South West Senatorial District, which is currently represented by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He attributed the successful exercise to the leadership style of Umar Namadi and the commitment of party stakeholders to strengthen unity within the APC. “APC now has focused leadership that believes unity within the party is key to achieving progress,” he said. He also assured that the APC will reclaim the South West zone from the PDP in the next general election.
Following their affirmation, the candidates expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the primaries and pledged to provide quality representation to their respective senatorial districts if elected. They also commended Governor Umar Namadi, the party leadership, and other stakeholders for ensuring a transparent and rancor‑free process.
