2027: Residents in Kano burn Obi‑Kwankwaso posters (VIDEO)

Chaos erupted in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State when residents set fire to campaign posters of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate Rabiu Kwankwaso.

A video seen by DAILY POST shows the NDC chairman for the local government, Bilyaminu Bachirawa, being dragged from a moving motorcycle. It appears that Bachirawa was nearly lynched by angry youths who pursued the motorcycle while shouting.

According to DAILY POST, the NDC announced Obi as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general election on Saturday evening. Shortly thereafter, Obi officially announced Kwankwaso as his running mate.

Obi and Kwankwaso had recently left the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the NDC, citing internal divisions and court cases.
