Senator Adams Oshiomhole said that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, lacks the qualities needed to win the 2027 election.

During an interview with Mic On Podcast on Sunday, the lawmaker argued that Obi does not have a solid reputation, citing his alleged inability to manage and resolve party crises.

Oshiomhole pointed out that the former governor of Anambra State cannot be trusted by his own words, noting that Obi failed to keep his promise of staying with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

“Peter Obi has no reputation, you cannot take him by his words. First he said he was not going to leave APGA when Ojukwu handed the party to him and the party produced him as a governor,” Oshiomhole said.

“After that Obi joined a party because he wanted to be a vice‑president but he was defeated; instead of staying back to strategise, Obi left and went to the Labour Party because he didn’t want to do primaries.”

“The Labour Party handed over the ticket to him on a platter of gold. According to him, he got eight million votes. Common sense would say you manage that platform, invest in it and deal with all the eternal challenges, but he wanted food ready and left the Labour Party.”

“He wanted to join ADC and they forcefully took over the leadership of the party, but when they said there would be a primary election and because he doesn’t want to go through the first stage of election, he went to join NDC,” Oshiomhole added.
