FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has clarified that the Allied People’s Movement (APM) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are not in an alliance.
Wike made the statement in response to questions about a rumored partnership between the two parties.
He said the alleged alliance is a fabrication by certain politicians and that no formal agreement exists between the PDP and the APM.
Speculation about a coalition surfaced before Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State announced his presidential bid.
“Fortunately, the PDP has issued a press statement confirming that there is no alliance between the PDP and the Allied People’s Movement or any other party. INEC also knows that there is no PDP‑APM alliance,” he said.
Regarding Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara, who was rumored to have left the APC for another party but has recently reaffirmed his allegiance to the APC, Wike stated he was unaware of any grievances the governor may have had with his party, noting that Fubara is not a member of the PDP.
Wike added that he would focus on addressing questions and issues that pertain to his own party, the PDP.
