 Makinde’s PDP-APM alliance draws crowd in Ibadan

On Thursday, thousands of supporters and stakeholders from the Peoples Democratic Party and the Allied Peoples’ Movement gathered at the historic Mapo Hall in Ibadan for a Unity Mega Rally in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

The event came after both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding, overseen by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and APM National Chairman Yusuf Mamman Dantalle.

Earlier that day, the MoU was signed at the PDP South‑West Secretariat in Soji Adagunodo House on Old Ife Road, Ibadan, marking a strategic partnership intended to bolster both parties for the upcoming election.

The Unity Mega Rally is seen as a major consolidation within the state's politics, and observers note that Governor Makinde could leverage the alliance to strengthen his position before the 2027 elections.
