A public affairs analyst, Paschal Oluchukwu, and other chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party has vowed that Ebonyi State cannot experience wasted four years ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
They disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday after a meeting in Ebonyi.
Oluchukwu said owing to the insufficient presence of governance in Ebonyi in the last three years, the people of the state should not hesitate to vote out the incumbent administration led by Francis Nwifuru.
He noted that the opposition party in the state, led by the Peoples Democratic Party, is a viable alternative to replace the Nwifuru-led government.
“Governance is not trial by error. You must have been tested with individual accomplishments before being entrusted with a public office,” he stated.
In his comments ahead of the 2027 election in the state, PDP chieftain in Ebonyi Christopher Ngwuta urged the people of Ezza Ezekuna not to be deceived by the promises of certain individuals that they will be given power in 2031.
“They cannot make that promise public because they don’t want our people to hold them to account.” They know that they are deceiving our people, but we have to be wise and support Anyichuks because only he has the capacity to give an Ezza man power,” he insisted.
On his part, former member of the Ebonyi Assembly, Ikechukwu Nwobo, alleged that the level of decay and misgovernance in Ebonyi has gotten so high that people should no longer be concerned about zoning that had never existed in the first place but channel their efforts in rescuing the state from bad governance from the current occupants of power in the state.
“Ebonyi people cannot survive another wasted 4 years if things continue the way they currently are in the state,” he cautioned.
