KADUNA — The North-West chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced plans to embark on a strategic tour of the seven states in the region to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The decision was reached at a meeting of the party’s zonal leadership held at the APC North-West Zonal Headquarters in Kaduna, where members reviewed the political situation in the region and outlined strategies aimed at strengthening the party ahead of the polls.
The meeting was chaired by the APC North-West Zonal Secretary, Hon. Isah Sadiq Achida, in the absence of the National Vice Chairman for the zone, Hon. Garba Mohammed Datti, who was said to be on official assignment.
In a statement issued by the APC North-West Zonal Publicity Secretary, Malam Musa Mailafiya Mada, the party described the North-West as a strategic region, noting that it played a significant role in President Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.
According to the statement, the planned tour will involve engagements with party stakeholders across the seven North-West states to strengthen party structures and discuss strategies for the 2027 elections.
The party also noted that, for the first time since the creation of states in Nigeria, all seven North-West states are under the control of a single political party, describing the development as a milestone for the APC.
The zonal leadership expressed appreciation to Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for donating a utility vehicle to the party, saying the gesture would enhance the operations of the zonal secretariat.
It also commended the governors of the APC-controlled North-West states for their continued support, which it said had contributed to the effective functioning of the party in the zone.
The statement further praised prominent APC leaders from the region, including Deputy Senate President Barau I. Jibrin, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, ministers and other political office holders appointed by President Tinubu, for their support for the administration and the party.
The APC urged its leaders and members to sustain the momentum as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather pace, expressing confidence that the North-West would again play a major role in the party’s electoral performance.
