Talent manager Sam Olatunji confirmed the actor’s passing. Fellow actor Godwin Nnadiekwe also shared a somber statement on Instagram, suggesting that the 40‑year‑old had died.

In his message, Nnadiekwe expressed disbelief, writing, “I’m struggling to find the words. This news has truly devastated me. Nollywood has lost a precious person, and I am at a loss for words because this was not the plan, Alex Ekubo.”

He added, “To think you have already made your will—it’s a sadness I can’t completely articulate. Rest well, my friend.”
