Have you heard that the colour of your urine says a lot about your health? When next you pee, don’t be so hasty to flush, have a look at your pee because the colour of you pee tells a lot about your state of health. This is why most times when you go to the hospital for check up, the doctor either tests your urine or blood. The colour varies from clear to pale yellow to bright yellow to dark yellow to brown to green to blue to orange to pink/red to black.
If your urine is clear, you can be very happy since it is an indicator that you are perfectly healthy. It could also means you are over hydrated.
If your urine is pale yellow that means you are healthy because healthy bodies produce urine that isn’t too dark, which signals that you are well hydrated.
If your urine is bright yellow, there is no need for alarm. You only need more of vitamins B.
You are also healthy if your urine is dark yellow; you only need to drink more water to hydrate your body.
If your urine is light or dark brown urine, it could be as a result of blood in the urine or a potential liver or kidney disorder or overworking your muscles or urinary tract infections. It is better to see your doctor.
Green colored urine could be as a result of bile or diarrhoea. It could also be a urinary tract infection and it is advisable to consult your doctor.
If your urine is blue, it is as a result of some medications and food taken.
Food poisoning or lack of water could make the urine look darker, thus orange. In this situation, it is better you consult your doctor.
If you notice that your urine is pinkish or reddish and you have not been eating blueberries, beets or rhubarb, its better you consult your doctor immediately because it is a sign of urinary tract infection or urinary stones or tumour or kidney and bladder cancer.
Black urine is often as a result of large amount of food and medication uses.
