The Dangers Of Eating Junk Foods

Junk foods are foods with zero calories and no nutritional values, they have nothing to offer to the body in terms of health benefits with absolutely no value for money. The insulin levels become elevated when one eats processed sugars, such as those in soft drinks, white flour and other foods, devoid of fiber and nutrients necessary to properly metabolize carbohydrates. Eating junk foods causes chronically high insulin levels, which prompts the cells to begin to ignore important hormones, resulting in a condition known as insulin resistance. Which gives higher risks for obesity and Type 2 diabetes. Below are a few of the many junk foods we should stay away from:

Sausage: This is a processed mined meat like beef, pork, or other meats often combined together with added ingredients and seasonings usually stuffed in a casing. Sausages are very nutritious and are also linked to a variety of health problems. People who consume processed meats have a higher chance of contracting diabetes, heart diseases, and sometimes cancer. Sausages are filled with excess sodium and fat.

Margarine: Margarine is considered an alternative to butter, but is a very highly processed food that has been engineered to look and taste like butter. It is loaded with artificial ingredients and is made with industrial vegetable oils, that have been hydrogenated to make them solid, this increases the transfat content significantly. It is better to use real butter from grass field cows.

French fries and potatoes: These foods are high in calories and is easy to eat in excess. Consumption of fries and potato chips gives room for weight gain. They also contain large amounts of acrylamide and carcinogenic substances, that form whenever potatoes are fried, baked or roasted. It is best to eat potatoes that are boiled and not fried.

Low-fat yogurt: These foods are low in fat and loaded with sugar to make up for the lack of taste. The yogurt has a healthy natural diary fat removed and is replaced with something worse. Many yogurts don’t contain probiotic bacteria. The ones found in stores are extremely bad for the body, it is better to choose full-fat yogurt that contains live or active cultures (probiotics) or yogurts from grass field cows.

Pastries, Cookies, and Cakes: These foods are generally made with refined sugar, refined flour, and added fats. They also have unhealthy fats like shortenings (High in trans fats) They are literally the worst foods to eat because they have no nutrients but have tons of calories and very unhealthy ingredients.

Pizza: This is a junk food that has an awesome taste and is very convenient to eat, the problem with pizza is, it is made up of very unhealthy ingredients like refined wheat flour, and the meats on them are usually processed meats. Pizza is very high in calories and it’s advised to eat homemade pizza.

Ice cream: Ice cream is one of the most delicious foods on earth and also one of the unhealthiest because they are mostly commercial. They are always loaded with sugar. Ice cream is also high in calories and is very easy to consume, taking ice cream as desserts are dangerous to the body.

Coffee:  Coffee is loaded with antioxidants and has lower risks of serious diseases like type 2 diabetes and Parkinson disease. Unfortunately, the kinds of stuff added to the coffee is what makes this beverage a harmful sludge. If coffee has a ton of artificial creamer and sugar, then its dangerous to the body.
