There is no one who is trying to write something without an identified ideas or concepts upon which the writing or the book would rest upon. For instance, when i decided to write 500 Idiomatic Expressions, Meanings and Usages some years back, the idea behind it was to help Nigerian students get more acquainted to using Idioms in their daily usage of communication. This was the reason why I put a lot of usages in the book for easy comprehension. The idea behind the book ensured that non-stoppage from beginning to the end. A Writer must get the idea right at the stage of conception. Once this is done, it is almost completed from the beginning.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        READ WELL

Reading is very key to successful writing. You need to read the works by other authors to check out their styles, motives, flow, and even their vocabulary. You need to have good examples to follow as well as brilliant stories to analyze and apply. You also need to learn from their mistakes. While writing 500 Idioms, all the related books i read had scanty usages; i decided to make mine full of usages and so far about 3,000 copies have been sold in just a Local Government in Lagos. Reading other materials has the capacity to help you see from different perspectives as well. So, make sure you feed your brain with literature if you want to produce useful content.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     GET RID OF DISTRACTION

Sometimes all we need to boost our creativity is to get rid of all distractions which steal our focus and prevent us from concentrating on one task at a time.

So, make sure you turned your cell phone off and logged out of all the social networks when writing. This will save your time and energy as well as will allow you to achieve better results in writing even when you feel stuck.

Among other distractions are favourite books, correspondence, siblings (especially younger ones), or noise. So, when writing, make sure you have some privacy. Go to the nearest library or use your parents’ office to work in silence.

A writer must be a very good observant because ideas can always come from observing nature and all the things around. Where do the new plots and ideas come from? Where did the world’s most famous writers find their characters? It all originates from the real world. Thus, observing is your key to finding new ideas or concepts to write on.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

It takes personal believability for anyone to write a book otherwise you will start but not follow through. Chinua Achebe in his book, – There was a country – captures how he thought that his next door neighbour would never ever read his iconic book – Things Fall Apart- when he was writing it. The fear came while he was penning it but he overcame it by self belief. You too need it to write otherwise you will not write anything, or at best start but never finish it.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            DETERMINATION                                                                                                                                                              No man ever get anything done who is not determined to make it happen. This is very key in the life of anyone who aspires to write a book.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  INQUISITION                                                                                                                                                                    A would-be write must be a skilled inquisitor who searches for knowledge either from book, manual, map, etc or who engage people directly for the purpose of knowing new things. The information gotten from such endeavour can be improved on to form an ideas or concepts upon which a writer can come up with a book.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Akingbade Adegoke John                                                                                                                                                MD/CEO Kratifkomm Nigeria
