Baking Soda: The Wonder Product

Baking Soda is also known as the wonder product. There are many items in our kitchens that have jaw dropping uses that would amaze many of us, but today we have our spotlight on Baking Soda.

Primarily baking soda, as the name suggests, is used in cooking. It is used as a raising agent for dough. It is also used in a number of other cooking products. Baking soda is used for a whole lot more than cooking however; our focus today is on how baking soda can be used for personal grooming.

1. To whiten your teeth –
Mix ½ spoon of baking soda with a few drops of water or lemon in a cup to make a paste. Next scoop some of the paste on your toothbrush and rub on your teeth. You can leave this for about 2 minutes and then brush. Rinse your mouth thoroughly and you’re good to go. This method can be used every other day for better results. You could also add baking soda to your regular toothpaste.

2. To exfoliate –
Mix 3 parts of baking soda with 1 part water. Rub on your face in a circular motion and rinse off. This helps to get rid of dead skin.

3. To treat acne –
there are so many chemicals that promise quick fix for acne, but a mix of baking soda and honey is all you need. Apply to face, leave for 15 minutes and rinse.

4. To treat insect bites –
insect bites can be really itchy and often makes the skin irritated and causes it to redden. Make a simple paste of baking soda and water and rub on the bite. This would soothe the itching and reduce redness.

5. To pamper your feet –
after a long day your feet feel tired and achy. A simple soak in warm water and baking soda would soothe and soften your feet.

6. To wash your hair –
this also is quite simple to do and makes your hair healthy, shiny and very clean. Mix 3 parts baking soda and 1 part water. Apply to either wet or dry hair start from the roots and work your way up to the ends. After washing,
