TWO housekeepers who allegedly stole their employers cash and valuables worth N43.9 million had been granted a temporary reprieve on the orders of an Ikeja Magistrate Court. The accused are Samuel Udom and Babatunde Liasu.
The accused, Udom, 24; and Liasu, 25 who both lives at Okeira in Ajah area of Lagos, are standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
According to the Police Prosecutor Benson Emuerhi, the accused committed the offences with others who are still at large on Nov. 3, 2017, at Mosley Street, Ikoyi, Lagos. Emuerhi said the accused, who worked as cleaners for Mr and Mrs Obeahon Ohiwerei, stole 10,000 dollars (N3.6million).
Other valuables stolen from the complainant’s room include a bag of jewellery valued at N40 million, clothes and belts estimated N43.9 million.
“The accused, who had been working for the complainant for some time, broke into their room and made away with the items.
